Get urgent care if
- You can't put weight on your foot, it looks deformed, or you heard a snap or pop.
- You felt a sudden pop at the back of the heel or calf (possible Achilles rupture).
- Your foot is red, hot and swollen, or you have a fever.
- You have diabetes and a sudden burning pain or an infected wound.
See a doctor or podiatrist soon if
- Pain is severe, getting worse, or hasn't improved after about 2 weeks of home care.
- You have numbness, tingling or burning, especially if it's spreading.
- You have diabetes and a cut, blister or sore that hasn't healed after a few days.
- Your arch is visibly flattening or the inside of your ankle is swollen.
